Robertson, Derek

Derek Robertson has been a professional wildlife artist for 30 years. His work exhibits internationally and has won numerous awards including the BBC Wildlife Art “Visions of Nature” award. He has written and presented a number of TV programs including Drawn from Wild Places and Portrait of the Wild and has written numerous books including Highland Sketchbook, A Studio Under The Sky and Living Landscapes as well as illustrating numerous articles and books including Nature’s Child and Song Of The Rolling Earth by Sir John Lister-Kaye. As an enthusiastic amateur naturalist, he has written and contributed to numerous articles and papers in scientific journals, has been a Council member of BTO and the ringing scheme and is currently chair of the Tay Ringing Group. His wide practice has led to creative collaborations with scientists, poets, writers, musicians and other creative practitioners.
