Dame Fiona Reynolds has been Director-General of the National Trust for England, Wales and Northern Ireland since 1 January 2001. She has degrees in Geography and Land Economy from Cambridge University. Before the Trust, Fiona spent eighteen years in the voluntary conservation movement (as chief executive of the Council for National Parks and CPRE) and in the Cabinet Office as Director of the Women’s Unit from 1998–2000. Her recreations are walking, landscape history, classical music and opera.
