Jonathan Pomroy is a landscape and wildlife artist from North Yorkshire. Working in all winds and weathers, he prefers to sketch in watercolour.
Swifts have been a passion since childhood- attracting swifts to nest boxes over twenty years has enabled him to sketch many aspects of their behaviour. He manages Helmsley Swifts and is a committee member of House Martin Conservation UK- IE.
His first book, On Crescent Wings- a Portrait of the Swift has given him a platform for swift conservation work. Recently he illustrated The Screaming Sky by Charles Foster.
Jonathan’s main motivation to paint is to share his love of the natural world. By inspiring others he hopes that his art can play a part in nature conservation.
