Helen Pilcher: A science writer and performer, Helen mainly writes for The Guardian, New Scientist, BBC Science Focus and BBC Wildlife magazines. Her first book, Bring Back the King: The New Science of De-extinction, was BBC Radio 2’s ‘Fact not Fiction’ Book of the Week. Helen has a PhD in Cell Biology and, until children arrived, was a stand-up comedian. She describes her talks as a mix of stand-up comedy and science, or “scomedy”.
