Zakiya Mckenzie: Zakiya is a presenter on Bristol’s Ujima Radio and a postgrad student at the University of Bristol studying environment, energy and resilience in the Caribbean. She began her working life in journalism and media in Jamaica, NYC and then Johannesburg. Back in the UK, she became a ‘Green and Black Ambassador’, making connections between Bristol’s African-Caribbean communities and the city’s booming environmental sector. Now, as Forestry England’s ‘Writer in the Forest’, she continues a love affair with writing and natural history.
