Dr Erica McAlister: Erica is a senior curator of Diptera (true flies) at London’s Natural History Museum. Known by her moniker ‘Flygirl’ on social media, she works tirelessly to share her unrivalled knowledge of flies and other insects, and is President of the Amateur Entomologists’ Society. Her books include The Secret Life of Flies, and she is a regular guest on Radio 4 science programmes.
